LIGHT THE WAY

Every day, in every community in Southeastern Michigan, there are families struggling to afford basic needs like food, shelter and child care. Whether providing immediate help during times of crisis or building a foundation for long-term stability, United Way is there to Light The Way to a brighter future. It’s only possible because of your support.  

When families struggle to pay a utility bill or put food on the table, United Way’s 2-1-1 helpline connects them with the resources they need to get by. 

When students risk falling behind due to a lack of access to reading materials or technology, United Way is there to distribute books, laptops and other tools. 

And as our community works to address racial and systemic inequities in Southeastern Michigan, United Way is there to provide grant funding and support to local organizations focused on racial justice and equity work.

Important considerations: 

• Your 2025 donation/pledge will be matched by FordDirect up to $250, as part of our FordDirect Cares program.
  • Please note, you will not need to submit a request for a donation match. This is taken care of automatically.
  • Your donation/pledge can be submitted one of three ways:
    1. Lump sum payroll deduction;
    2. Deduction from each paycheck (starting May 23^rd, total donation divided into 16 pay periods); or
    3. One-time donation paid with your personal credit card
